It is a perfect sphere
I crochet, so I know how hard a true sphere is. No egg shape, no visible seam, increases mirror the decreases exactly. Chain is solid gold-tone and has not tarnished.

When will it reach you?
Deliberately the loudest thing we make. Butter yellow, gold hardware, a grin stitched in thick black cotton, and two pink cheeks hooked as separate little rounds and sewn on.
It is a perfect sphere, which is much harder than it sounds — the increase and decrease rounds have to mirror exactly or you get an egg. Ours took four attempts to get right and now Nani does it without looking.
Six centimetres across, hangs from a solid gold-tone chain and swivel ring, and reads clearly from across a room. It is on more tote bags than we can reasonably account for.

Ratna learnt to crochet at nine, from her grandmother, on a rooftop in Jaipur. She still uses the same steel hook. Her stitch tension is so even that we use her pieces to train everyone else in the studio.

The yellow is very yellow. I hesitated for a day and now it is on my bag permanently. Only note is I wish the cheeks were slightly smaller.
